Annual Meeting - With Guest Author Linda Busby Parker

Join the Friends of the Mobile Public Library for their 2012 Annual Meeting featuring author Linda Busby Parker.

Linda has taught on the faculties of Eastern Michigan University, Iowa State University, and the University of South Alabama. She is the author of two college-level textbooks. Her novel, Seven Laurels, was published in April 2004 by SEMO press (Southeast Missouri University Press).

Seven Laurels (under the title The Sum of Augusts) won the 2002 James Jones First Novel Fellowship. Linda has served as a student editor of The Louisville Review and was the publisher and editor of Mobile Bay Monthly.

She is a book reviewer for The Mobile Press Register and her short fiction appears frequently in publications and journals. She has studied at the Sewanee Writers Conference at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.

This event is for members of the Friends of the Mobile Public Library. You may join the Friends the night of January 26. The $30 annual family membership includes admission to the meeting, quarterly newsletters and admission into the Annual Book Sale preview, which will be on Friday, April 27 from 3 - 7 p.m.

Use your library card number to log in.

Novelist Plus K-8 - an online database with fiction and nonfiction titles chosen specifically to support the school curriculum as well as the pleasure reading needs of students including BookTalks, Recommended Reads book lists, annotations, first chapter excerpts, as well as tools like Lexile scores and popularity ratings.





Joining the Friends of the Library is a great way to support the Library. Its easy too!

Just ask for an application at any branch or print it out and mail it in.
Memberships range from $30 for an Individual to $500 for a Partner.
