This online language learning system teaches real conversation skills for practical communication including
English as a Second Language (ESL) and a Religious and Scholarly collection .
Through fun and engaging interactive lessons, Mango makes learning a new language fast, easy and incredibly effective.
The system is completely web-based and remotely accessible, so you can learn anywhere you have an internet connection. As you listen to and repeat after native speakers, you'll learn more than just words and phrases. You'll learn how those pieces can be rearranged and combined to make new thoughts, new conversations, and even more practical communication! In no time at all, you'll be able to navigate all sorts of everyday situations - get directions, order a meal, make new friends - the possibilities are endless!

STEP 1: CLICK HERE TO START.
ENTER YOUR LIBRARY CARD NUMBER IF ACCESSING FROM HOME.
STEP 2: LOG IN - On the login screen, enter your library card number in the top blank (if you are accessing from outside the Library) and click on "Start Learning" to log in as an anonymous user. If you have already Created a Profile, just enter your email address and password under "Log In" on the left.
STEP 3: CREATE A PROFILE & ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT (optional) - You have the option to Create a Profile with a personal login and password, which will allow Mango to remember where you left off the next time you login and you won't have to enter your library card number again. If you want to skip this, just click "Start Learning."
- Enter your library card number, email address and a password of your choice under "Create Profile" on the right.
- After you create your login and password, you will receive an email containing a link to activate your account.
You must click this link in order to Log In for the first time.
STEP 4: SELECT A COURSE - Click on the Courses tab and choose your language and then your level of instruction. Basic courses are a fast and easy way to learn polite conversation. Complete courses are more in-depth.
STEP 5: ACCESS MANGO - Once you've selected, Mango will confirm your browser's compatibility, load your course and the Welcome screen will display. You're ready to begin!
STEP 6: GET TALKING!
- Use the Course Library Menu to choose your lesson. If it's your first time, choose Section 1. Lesson 1.
- Use the Arrow Buttons to move forward and backward through the course.
- Mouse over the words to see phoenetic spellings, and click them to hear a slower, more articulate pronunciation.
- Click the Fluency Button to hear the word pronounced at normal speaking speed.
- After the narrator reads a slide, the Voice Comparison Button will appear. Click it to compare your pronunciation with
that of the narrator.
- Keep and eye out for Literal Meanings, Cultural Notes and Grammar Notes. They'll help you communicate more effectively.
