presents a check to the Semmes Library.
County Commissioner Stephen Nodine, the Mobile Public Library and the citizens of Semmes have joined together to establish a Public Library in Semmes, and we need your help to be successful. (Donor List)

We are hard at work raising funds for the new library's opening day book collection. (See more pictures.)
Whether you are able to donate your time or money, this vital project will serve the 30,000 citizens of the Semmes area and the surrounding areas.

Check the web site often for fundraising updates and volunteer opportunities. To get involved, call 649-3163 or e-mail semmeslibrary@bellsouth.net.

Semmes Elementary Celebration of the Arts

Charles Jackson, Mobile Public Library Board Member,
Nichole Dossett, Semmes Elementary Media Specialist,
and friends Celebrate the Arts.
The Semmes Elementary School is an excellent example of how much this communtiy is committed to having a new Library. On March 3rd they hosted the Celebration of the Arts fundraiser. A silent auction was held with items donated by local artists and authors and $2,000 was raised for the Library! Over half of the student body attended with their families and ordered over $5,400.00 worth of products featuring their artwork with thirty percent of proceeds going to the Library.

Semmes Elementary set a goal of $10,000.00 at the outset of this project; the school has worked very hard to reach it and the entire community has demonstrated its commitment to the Semmes Library by supporting their efforts and helping them reach their goal!

Thank You Semmes Elementary!
