The Semmes Elementary School was an excellent example of how much this communtiy
was committed to having a new Library. On March 3, 2008 they
hosted the Celebration of the Arts fundraiser. A silent auction was
held with items donated by local artists
and authors and $2,000 was raised for the Library! Over half of the student body attended
with their families and ordered over $5,400.00 worth of
products featuring their artwork with thirty percent of proceeds going to the Library.
Semmes Elementary set a goal of $10,000.00 at the outset of this project; the school worked very hard to reach it and the entire community demonstrated its commitment to the Semmes Library by supporting their efforts and helping them reach their goal! Thank You Semmes Elementary! |
